The what now?

I knows these words Printemps – SpringVoisins – Neighbours

Well have you ever felt that we’re not as friendly as we once were with our neighbours? You’ve moved here and you probably say Bonjour … Bonjour … Bonjour more times than you can count in a day. Do you really know your neighbours though?

A few years back some new neighbours moved in to our apartment building and they organised an apero outside for our building. The result? Not everyone showed up but about 25 people did and it was great. Kids played with other kids … the people who’d wanted to know who the hell is this foreigner could have a chat and we all had a great time. Bake something / bring something / share something / play something 🙂

In turn this leads onto other quick little exchanges from time to time.

Since then it becomes a bit of a bi-monthly event (during the summer months) with the surrounding buildings getting involved too.

So … since 2004 the Nantes City Council? has made chairs and tables available to people to get to know their neighbours.

You can now apply to get them https://www.nantes.fr/printempsdesvoisins

So stick up an A4 sheet in your building or check with any of your neighbours if they’d be interested in doing something 🙂
