Carnival is coming to town and this weekend you can visit the warehouse / workshop where it’s all happening. If you’re coming from town on the line 1 get off at Souillarderie. Cross under the tram tracks and you’ll see the Carvaval de Nantes truck and security on the entrance.
It wasn’t too crowded when I was there and you can take a wander around the various floats in production.
Not to mention some exhibits that seem ready to go.
You can see the minature models of the floats and what to expect
right next to the real thing
Not to mention some not so real floats.
For the kids there’s Peche a la ligne
and you can even have a little chat with the people working there.
They’ll be doing makeup for the kids as well but check the times.
Make sure to look around as there are floats everywhere.
If you’ve been to a few of these it’s probably fun to look back on the past floats.
Don’t however take my word for it. Head across you’ll probably enjoy yourself. There are refreshments and BBQ’s in place.
and before you know it … it might just be time to .. go … go …
The only catch … the open days are today and tomorrow only from 10am to 6pm. (27th and 28th February) You’ll find it at 188, Route de Sainte Luce 44300 Nantes
