I see from a friend it’s world mental health day today … so cheer up buttercupturn that frown upside down … and smile! … now if you can’t do any of those it’s ok.

Some people are down at times, I’d guess we all are from time to time … some people are actually depressed … one of the best things you can do is to actually talk to someone. It’s not always easy to listen to someone who’s depressed though and we’re not psychiatrists so all we can do is to lend an ear and be supportive and yes it can be a bit much for people especially if they don’t understand what you’re going through.

If talking to friends and family doesn’t help? Why not think about talking to a professional (Your doctor for example may be able to prescribe something for you. They may also be able to recommend a French or an English speaking psychiatrist in Nantes).

There are also organisations out there as well who are there to support you. A quick search gives me http://www.counsellinginfrance.com/HELPLINES.htm this is an old list it looks like but there are some English Speaking services available in France.

Life can be tough at times and life in France for a non native French speaker can be tough as well and bring with it all sorts of other issues and challenges.

I can take no credit for the graphic, I do find it to be a good check list of things to do though results may vary if you’re taking selfies 😛
