In yesterday’s post I mentioned that the Carnival (Carnaval) workshop is open this weekend. So yesterday we went along to see what it’s all about.
We’d actually been to the Carnival Workshop in 2016 already but missed out last year.
Guarding the entrance is Robotron! (No that’s not his real name) but you can get a sense for the scale of the sculptures.
He’s quite impressive up close and personal
Inside the workshop you can see the new exhibits in creation as well as the history of the Carnival. You can have a chat with the creators / sculptors … and you can even pick up a few free postcards and posters.
Check out the miniture models before looking for the full size versions in construction.
Chop Chop!
It’s fun to see them carving away
Anubis is looking well 🙂
I
I just can’t tell if these are meant to be leprechauns or not 😀
Flower Power (I’m not sure what year this one is from but it was there in 2016 as well)
In case you’re wondering there are a also few things for the kids to do. 2 “Pêche a la Ligne” stands (They are everywhere the first you’ll come to is 1.50 and has the presents wrapped in paper and ribbons. The second is the tricky one with ducks in water at €2 euro and has this years Reines de Nantes at it. There are food trucks (Burgers / Crepes) … pop corn and so on …
All in all well worth a visit especially if you’ve got little ones (Though take some change with you.. while it’s free to visit .. some of the kids games are paid .. not to mention the food if you decide to eat there.)
The Carnival will take place on the 8th, 11th, and 14th of April
What do you mean 3 dates? Yep 3 dates
Sunday the 8th April at 14:30 (The Main Carnival)
Wednesday the 11th April at 14:00 (The Kids Carnival)
Saturday the 14th April from 20:45 (The Night Carnival)
