Good news everybody. It looks like Nantes is getting a new football stadium. Wait WHAT? What’s wrong with the old stadium?
Well it would appear that Nantes doesn’t want to invest any money into the current football stadium and it’s not quite up to scratch for UEFA requirements which has meant that it has been overlooked in the past
Nantes métropole ne « souhaitant pas en financer un centime ».
The project for the new stadium is worth around 200 million. It looks like it’ll be completed in 2022 which makes it in time for the 2024 Paris Olympics. What happens the old stadium and where is the new one? It’s going to be right beside the old one. Once it’s up and running the old will be demolished to make way for a number of other projects for the community.
