We were going to try Oncle Pho‘s yesterday but there was a bit of a wait and in the end we both said Pinocchio’s? Which is just up the street. This is one of my favourite pizza places in Nantes and it’s always on our “we could always go there” list of places 🙂
It’s located at 31 Rue Saint-Léonard, 44000 Nantes with Pickles Restaurant just a few doors away.
From the outside it doesn’t really look that impressive.
The big attraction for me is the Wood Burning Oven inside. When you enter it’s quite dark and cosy and the wood oven gives the place such a nice smell.
It’s also generally rather full inside though I think we’ve always managed to get a seat. It doesn’t hurt the staff are always nice. (Though generally rushing about serving everyone)
You’ve got specials of the week and also a lunch time menu .. Plat du Jour or a choice of 5 pizza’s .. starter .. desserts … at a more affordable price.
We both opted to eat from the main menu with Val going for a nice Pasta Carbonara.
For a change I went with the Pinocchio Pizza 🙂 (Normally I love a pizza with an egg)
We’ve had dessert here before as well and it doesn’t disappoint but with work to get back to we just opted to have a main (and a 1/4 of house red between us for less than €3)
If you’ve not tried here before I’d highly recommend it.
